Mr. David Williams is Glendale Prep’s inaugural Head of School. Mr. Williams has completed all required coursework for a Doctorate in Philosophy from the University of Dallas. He holds three Masters Degrees, in Theological Studies, Liberal Arts, and History, from the John Paul II Pontifical Institute, St. John’s College, and the University of Notre Dame, respectively, as well as a B.A. in History from Fairfield University in Connecticut. He has also pursued substantial summer studies in literature, history, political and economic systems at the Dallas Institute for Humanities and Culture, Oxford University, and Georgetown University. His teaching experience includes tenures as an adjunct professor at the University of Dallas, and as a high school humanities teacher at Union High School in New Jersey. His passion for the humanities is evident not only in his own education and professional development, but also in the initiative he has demonstrated in designing and founding interdisciplinary courses, Great Books discussion clubs, and Philosophy tutorials, thus furthering future generations appreciation for great thought. In recognition of his professional achievement, the New Jersey chapter of the National Endowment for the Humanities named Mr. Williams New Jersey Teacher of the Year, and the New Jersey Senate and General Assembly passed a joint legislative resolution acclaiming his excellence in teaching. Mac Esau, Assistant Headmaster and Mathematics Teacher, is coming to Glendale Preparatory Academy from West Valley Christian School in Los Angeles, where he has been a teacher for 5 years and a K-12th grade administrator for 2 years. He received his Bachelor of Arts in both Psychology and Communication Studies from UCLA and his Master of Arts in Education and Teaching Credential from Biola University. He is excited to have moved to the great state of Arizona with his wife who accepted the executive director position with Teach for America. Stephen Gordon, Academic Dean

Steve Gordon, English and Humane Letters teacher, is coming to Glendale Preparatory Academy from the Latin School of Chicago, where he has been teaching high school English. Before moving to Chicago, Steve taught English at the high school level for three years at Ursuline Academy of Dallas and at the middle school level for another three years at St. Monica School in Dallas. Steve’s background also includes teaching in the University of Dallas’ Shakespeare in Italy summer program and volunteering for a year with an inner-city mission in Philadelphia. He received both his Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in English from the University of Dallas. Jonathan Rickey, Athletic Director

Jonathan Rickey, Athletic Director, is coming to Glendale Prep from Imagine Schools at Rosefield. There he was a primary member of the inaugural staff and was awarded "Teacher of the Year" as voted by the staff and parents. He served Rosefield for several years in a teaching capacity instructing physical education and middle school social studies, and in a leadership position as the Asst. Principal. Jonathan also taught four years of middle school social studies at ACCLAIM charter school. He has coached a variety of sports over the past nine years including: JH boys basketball, HS girls basketball, HS softball, HS baseball and HS co-ed soccer. Leah Asuncion, Office Manager, is coming to Glendale Preparatory Academy from Anytime Fitness, where she served as an area manager for the Northwest Valley of Phoenix. Leah attended Northern Arizona University where she double majored in psychology and sociology. She and her husband moved to Surprise in early 2007 and she is very excited and enthusiastic about being a part of Glendale Prep.
